The retired running shoe. Too gross to go to Goodwill, too sentimental to throw away. They’ve carried you through 500 miles, down foreign roads, and into some of the best sunsets of your life.

Goodbye Shoes is a photo studio that gives runners a more memorable send-off for their retired shoes. Each shoe gets an artfully crafted diorama style portrait, styled with little trinkets that nod to the miles and memories you shared.

After their farewell, the shoes are donated to a program that grinds athletic footwear into recyclable materials—so they can be reincarnated into something new.
