THE BRIEF BRIEF: Build a brand for an award winning craft cocktail bar in Las Vegas.
Starboard Tack was a classic Vegas bar from the 1970s and 1980s. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, it underwent multiple changes in name, ownership, and identity. However, more recently, new owners acquired it and aimed to revive the vintage Las Vegas nostalgia by restoring the old name and reintroducing a couple of popular menu items. Still, the brand required a fresh, modern appearance.
Taking inspiration from ancient Asian trade routes and the vintage vibes of Las Vegas, we settled on a handcrafted script font reminiscent of old neon signs. To infuse an exotic twist, we incorporated tropical colors into the branding.
